Koala Viewing on the Koala Walk
Take a leisurely stroll down our famous Koala Walk and observe
the amazing and beautiful Koalas relaxing in the avenue of shady
Eucalyptus trees. Koalas Guaranteed !
The Hanson Bay Sanctuary is the best place on Kangaroo Island to
see a sustainable population of Koalas in the wild. This is an absolute
must for international visitors! You can expect to see between fifteen
to twenty Koalas to at any one time. You are welcome to stay as
long as you like enjoying these beautiful Australian marsupials.

Nature Trail
Hanson Bay Sanctuary has set aside a fully fenced feral-free area
of 250 acres to enable some of the more vulnerable species of wildlife
to thrive without the threat of predatory feral animals. Beautiful
vegetation, birdlife and animals all come together to make this
an enjoyable bush walk.
You will encounter Koalas, Goannas, Wallabies, Kangaroos and maybe
an Echidna. The Hanson Bay Wildlife Sanctuary is also known for
its wonderful birdlife. You can expect to see Blue Wrens, Scarlet
Robins, Lorikeets, Scrub Wrens, Bush Stone-Curlews and Cape Barren
Geese on this walk.
The Nature Trail normally will take you ninety minutes, but stay
longer if you wish. Take your camera, water bottle and binoculars.
